Track Three

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES & DVD

Produced by Hugh Bennett

Compact disc and other optical storage formats evolve so quickly in terms of both capability and importance that even the experts may be confused as to which way to go. It seems no sooner is one optical storage technology released than another one emerges. These sessions will help you better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various formats, allowing you to make an informed selection of the technology most appropriate for your application. You will be brought up to speed on new capabilities and the latest developments in emerging technologies such as CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, MO and PD and given glimpses of the next generation of DVD-R, DVD-RAM and ASMO.
